Backcountry Trail Run - Mailbox Peak

Power hike up the old, run down the new. A great conditioner for climbers, scramblers, and runners.

7:30am at the Issaquah Transit Center, 1050 17th Ave NW, Issaquah, WA 98027.  We will take the Trailhead Direct bus that departs from Bay 5 at 7:45am for Mailbox Peak. See you at the bus stop!

We will power hike up the old trail, snack at the mailbox, and run down the new trail.  This is a conditioning trail run with the idea of practicing power hiking up the hills and running downhill. We will maintain a steady pace stopping only at the top for a quick snack, before descending back to the trailhead and catching the bus home.

For pace, I estimate that this should take around 1.5-2 hours to reach the summit, and approx. 2.5 to 3 hours overall.
