Meet at 8:30 am at the upper Tiger Summit Trailhead parking lot entrance off of Highway 18. Discover Pass required. There are no bathrooms at the trailhead or anywhere on route.

Starting point coordinates: 47.46828, -121.93625

Directions: From Seattle or I-405, head east on I-90. At Exit 25, head south on Highway 18. At approximately 4.5 miles, the lower Tiger Summit Trailhead parking lot is found on the righthand side of the highway. Take the road west to the upper parking lot.

This route is to the East Tiger Mountain summit.

We will follow a counter-clockwise loop for ~14 1/4 miles total distance with 2,930 ft elevation gain, following the Northwest Timber, Joyride, Swamp, Preston-Railroad Grade and East Tiger Summit trails. When we reach the summit, we will stop for a brief pic and refueling before heading back down. We will look to do an avg pace of 3.5 mph: moderate to fast (depending on group comfort) hike uphill and 4.5 mph straighaway and downhill. Goal is for everyone to run at a conversational pace, which means you can talk in complete sentence without gasping for air, can easily breath through your nose, and have an average heart rate typically less than 140 (75% of max heart rate).  Shouldn't be huffing and puffing.

This is a long route with significant elevation gain, with the potential for mountain bikers to be on trails. Hydration and nutrition are critical for long runs, as well as layering system depending on temperature and forecast. Please expect a brief call in advance of run to ensure everyone is prepared, understands trail conditionsa and safety expectations, and has the proper gear. Leader reserves the right to cancel anyone off the roster who does not have a history of conditioning appropriate for this run. If significant snow, freezing temperatures and/or hard rain, the run will be rescheduled or cancelled.
