Preview: Yodelin was once a residential development and ski area just east of Stevens Pass. The homes remain, and are located north of US 2, while the ski area, now defunct, lies just across the road. This short tour climbs the ridge just east of the former ski area and offers fine, short north-facing runs with little time commitment. It is basically an uphill road trip followed by downhill runs through old-growth forests and clear-cut areas; an aerobic, but not exhausting little tour. Despite the diminutive aspect of this tour, the usual avalanche precautions must be observed. Difficulties: Moderate avalanche potential.
