Verlot Ranger Station on Mountain Loop Hwy at 7 a.m.

Bring trail shoes for initial 2 miles of hiking approach; bring backpack suitable for carrying skis/split-board during hiking approach; continuous snow will start in hanging valley of Wirtz Basin and from there to Vesper summit; bring ice axe for climb up Headlee Pass couloir; your downhill skiing ability must be advanced intermediate to expert, because the descent, after mellow turns on Vesper's wide slopes, also includes a steep chute descent of the Headlee Pass couloir.
