Longmire Museum, 9:00 AM
We will ski from the Paradise parking lot in search of the best conditions. Possible destinations include Edith Creek Basin and Mazama Ridge. Expect elevation gain of up to 3,500'.
Intermediate or better backcountry skiing or backcountry boarding level expected. M1 rated trip. Skier oriented trip. Splitboarders must have sidehilling experience.
Participants must have completed one of more of the following AIARE courses after January 1, 2015:
- AIARE Avalanche Rescue Course
- AIARE Level 1 Avalanche Course
- AIARE Level 2 Avalanche Course
No snowshoes. Skins, beacon, shovel, probe required; beacon must be a two or three antenna model. We may practice transceiver searches - bring a plastic bag in which you can bury your transceiver. The destination is subject to change based on conditions and the opening time for the Longmire gate.
