Trip dates listed are only approximate. 
We will watch for a suitable weather window starting in the 3rd week of April and embark to take advantage of favorable weather and snow conditions.

Three night excursion to the Enchantments.     Actual itinerary will be weather and condition dependant.    Ideally we will establish a camp in upper basin and make day trips to various peaks and basins in the area.

Possible objectives depending on group interest and conditions:
Little Annapurna 
Dragontail Summit
South slope of Dragontail corn harvest.
Enchantment Peak
Cannon Mtn
Shield Lake / Lost World area.

A high level of fitness and endurance will be needed.
Prior experience snow camping required.
Advanced/Expert skiing skills required.
Well practiced self-arrest skills.
Flexible work/family schedule in order to take advantage of favorable  weather window.

  • The Ten Essentials
  • COVID-19 face covering
  • Boots, skis/splitboard, poles (snowshoes not acceptable for uphill travel)
  • Climbing skins
  • Avalanche shovel (metal blade)
  • Avalanche beacon -- digital  only
  • Avalanche probe
  • Ski crampons
  • Self-arrest grip ski pole (recommended)
  • Boot crampons (optional)
  • Ice axe (optional)
  • 20 degree or warmer sleeping bag 
  • Full length sleeping pad(s) with combined R-value of at least 3.
  • We will also need to coordinate on shared gear like  tents, stoves and cooking gear.   (Gear sharing dependant on COVID-19 circumstances  at the time of the trip -- perhaps  there will be no shared gear).
