Again the weather forecast for the upcoming weekend calls for heavy snow and strong winds on Saturday, I'm postponing to March 27. Squamish. BC — Elfin Lakes Shelter-- Two nights in large shelter in Garibaldi Park (sleeps up to 33 — bring earplugs) Ski in along well marked route to shelter, six to eight miles and 2200—2700vft depending on snowline. Lots of area to backcountry ski and explore from shelter. Climbing skins, avalanche safey skills and gear required. Strong intermediate skiing skills needed. Garibaldi Park Fees (cash only) -- Parking (3 CAN$/vehicle/day) Elfin Lakes Shelter (10 CAN$/person/day) Updated: Moved dates one week earlier.
