Our goal is to have a fun and adventurous day out, and that may include exploring new terrain. I'll make a call on destination the night before based no avy forecast, NWAC observations, weather, and team.
We will move quickly on the uphill (1200-1500ft/hr), although not at the pace (>2000ft/hr) that would require lycra suits, and we'll aim to cover 4000-5000+ vertical feet. Comfort skiing most of the resort terrain at Alpental is expected. Depending on the day and destination, we will ski in (or around) tight trees, steep/narrow areas, terrain traps, cliffs, areas with thin coverage, variable snow conditions, or the occasional thicket. (This is especially true when we traverse through one zone to reach another.)
To request Leader's Permission — if you haven't skied with me previously — describe your 2024+2025 touring experience and current fitness.
