Camp Muir & Anvil Rock

Backcountry Ski/Snowboard - Anvil Rock

Fresh powder? Nope. Great skiing? Nope. Turns All Year? YES! Hike up carrying your equipment then ski down just to say you skied in August.

  • M2 Mountain 2 Ski, Very Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 8.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,400 ft

7:30 am at the main Paradise parking lot.

There will be at least 2.5 miles of hiking (so about 5 miles round-trip) on snow-free trails to get to the snow while carrying your skis. Then we'll hike or hopefully skin up somewhat farther on the snow -- exactly how far and with what method will depend on the conditions. Then we'll get some turns by skiing down, switch back to hiking, and exit Paradise before it's too crowded!

Please review the Mountaineers COVID-19 code of conduct before this trip.

Weather forecast predicts sunshine and temperatures in the 50s.
