Students - you are welcome on this trip so long as you have passed the Snow FT. Snowshoes will probably be required - will evaluate before the trip date. At this point please plan on taking them. These must have good cleats on the bottom (like the MSRs). If you're not sure, please ask before the trip date. Ice axes required (of course!) The plan is to follow the trail to the north end of Ollalie Lake, then ascend the NW ridge of W Granite. If conditions are right, we'll then traverse the ridge SE to Granite Peak, and descend the ridge. Otherwise we will descend the S ridge of W Granite, angling westward to rejoin the Pratt/Ollalie trail. In either case this will be a "lollipop" route - rather than returning entirely the way we came. More information will be e-mailed to you after the registration closes.
