To be arranged
We’ll traverse Tronsen Ridge, starting at the south end of Tronsen Meadow (just north of Blewett Pass) and continuing north over Pt. 4870 and Pt. 4970 then descending to Rt 97 a little south of Bonanza Campground. We’ll return by car shuttle. The trip offers substantial protection from weather on the west Cascades slopes and generally has less avalanche potential as well. It does have sustained exposure to high winds, if present. As always, weather and snow conditions could make for a late change of destination. Topo gives it 6 miles (likely a substantial underestimate) and 2,300’ of gain. It’s on the Blewett Pass and Tiptop USGS maps.
