After staging a car at the Excelsior Ridge trail head, we hike 4 miles up the Yellow Aster Butte trail to the tarns at the base of Yellow Aster Butte and set up camp. We then hike the final mile to Yellow Aster Butte and return to camp. Day two  is a short but technically challenging day as we scramble up Tomyhoi Peak. Statistics for the day are about 5 miles round trip and 2200 feet of gain. On day three, we scramble along the ridge to Keep Kool Butte and continue scrambling along the ridge to Easy Pass, where we pick up the High Divide Trail and take it to Excelsior Peak, and then we descend the Excelsior trail to a car. Statistics for the third day are about 11 miles, with 2000 feet of gain and 6000 feet of descent. Lastly, we retrieve the cars at the Yellow Aster Butte trail head. Participants on this trip have priority for signing up on my Lasiocarpa scramble on Monday and can stay with me at the Douglas Fir campground in the town of Glacier.
