Parking permit required: Northwest Forest Pass
Directions: from the Kachess Lake exit (62) on Interstate 90, turn right at the bottom of the exit and drive southwest over the Yakima River. At 1.1 miles, turn right (northwest) onto Forest Service Road 5480. Remain on the road as it continues along the shores of Keechelus Lake before it climbs above Roaring Creek. A short distance before you come to Lost Lake, you will reach a five-way intersection without signs. Do not continue straight. Instead, go right to remain on FS 5480 and go around the east and north sides of Lost Lake until you reach the Mirror Lake trail 1302 parking area which is at the last left-bending turn before the road becomes a rocky, washed-out cut going steeply uphill.
This will be a moderate paced scramble. Trip participants must remain within voice distance of the person behind them.
Enclosed is a map, description and segment description of the route.
The actual route will depend on the terrain, weather conditions and participants’ abilities. If needed, an alternate, safer destination will be chosen by group consensus.
