A nice walk in the Park, and the near corner of the Park to boot!
Tamanos is snuggled next to the headwaters of the White River with the sawtooth outline of Governors' Ridge to the east, towering Cowlitz Chimneys to the south, and on the west less that eight miles distant, Mt. Rainier.
There's some rock and may still be some snow, so bring helmets and ice axes. Oh yes, and your camera. I'll provide maps.
P.S. MRNP has an entrance fee of $15 per vehicle, adding yet another reason to carpool.
