Stevens Pass Multi-Bump (S3, T2) - 6 miles, 3000' gain; USGS Stevens Pass, WA

This is a really good student's first snow scramble. We'll take time in the morning to refresh your snow skills. Then you'll work on navigation and route finding as we traverse Cowboy (5853') and Cowgirl (5547') Mts and run the ridge over to Big Chief (5858'). We'll end the day with a fabulous 1200' glissade through ski moguls below Big Chief. Kirk Peterson will co-lead.

Ice axe and helmet are REQUIRED.

I'll email TOPO! maps in JPEG format to trip participants prior to departure. Questions? Please call me.

Driving Directions:
From the west (Everett/Seattle), Take SR-2 east to Stevens Pass. Park in the north lot.

We changed the start time to heed a Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center weekend avalanche bulletin.
Be ready to go at 8:00 AM.

Time from downtime Seattle: 1:45.
