Slide Mountain, starting from the Suntop trail #1183, at Buck creek. This trip is normally done starting from Sunrise Point at Mount Rainier National Park. So the listed statistics are likely incorrect for our route (plan on 10 miles and 3500 feet gain, S3-T3). From our starting point at either the campground or further up the road depending on snow conditions, we'll follow the summer trail as best we can for several miles until we come near the boundary for MRNP, then go off trail to Buck Lake, and ascend toward Slide (and several false summits). Potential for excellent views of Rainier on a nice day.
