A jewel of the Cascades for Scramblers, Snowking stands surrounded by like-minded peaks of grandure. The scramble itself is not particularly technical despite it's T4 rating, but the S5 rating is accurate if not underestimated. Expect to gain over 4500 feet in the 8 miles or so to Cyclone lake much of which is in the first 4 miles. Due to the effort needed to get to high camp we'll be staying an extra day to summit and explore neighboring and unnamed peaks. Ice, ax, helmet and crampons required. This is a multiday over night trip. Further details regarding tentmates and group gear as we get closer to the trip date. If you're interested, please include other T4 or T5, S4 or S5 scrambles you've completed and example of overnight backpacking experience when you email me. Note: I will be unavailable for registration during the last week of July.
