Thanks for signing up, very happy to have you along. We'll be meeting and carpooling from in front of Starbucks under the clock tower next to the North Bend Safeway. Scramble Plan: 1. Planned departure time, 8:30 am, from Alpental ski area parking lot, 3100'. 2. Rest break at trail junction (jct at 4150' for Snoq Mtn and Guy Pk ), waterfall (4300'), pass 4620', and elsewhere as convenient. 3. Lunch at noon on summit, 6278'. 4. ETA return to parking lot: 3-4 pm What to bring: ice ax, NW Forest Parking Pass, gaitors, 10 essentials. All other gear is optional. Cautions: Strenuous scramble, > 1000'/mile gain; Slow to moderate pace. Primitive steep and rocky trail, not maintained. Cool temperatures on top, windy. Significant risk of dangerous exposure if you wander at the summit. Responsibilities: Please stay together as a group. We'll rotate front leaders. Front leaders should select safest pathway and set a pace comfortable to all. Turn back or group split up decision will be discussed by entire group and decided by trip leader.
