Alpine Scramble - Silver Peak

This is a Seattle Alpine Scramble make-up Experience Field Trip/snow clinic/snow scramble to Silver Peak, south of Snoqualmie Pass. Though it leaves from the same trailhead, this is not the summer hike and, although both the gain and mileage are moderate, this is a demanding scramble up into the North Basin of the peak that will test all the scrambling skills you have learned in the course, including crampon use, snow travel and ice ax/glissading skills, rock scrambling, travel across boulder fields, brush/steep forest movement, and backcountry navigation. This is a fun loop trip to a scenic peak!

7:30am at Traveler's Rest at Snoqualmie pass. From there we will carpool and caravan to the trailhead.

For some this is a make-up Experience Field trip, for others an instructional snow scramble to count towards graduation. If you want or need practice with snow skills or some instruction on rock, this trip is  set up to offer that support. We will give priority to Seattle students who need a snow scramble.
