Pass Required:Mount Rainier Pass or National Park Pass required for each car. The entrance fee is $15 per vehicle good for 7 days. Another option is that the driver and or rider can buy the annual pass which is good for pass holder and accompanying passengers (annual pass is $30 for the owner of the pass). If you already own a pass please bring them. Riders make sure you bring money for the carpool (Drivers can charge up to $19 per person for the gas alone).
Route: We will be hiking from Longmire (Elevation 2760') to Rampart Ridge and then down to Kautz Ck. Crossing Kautz Ck and three other creeks on our way to Devil’s Dream Campground. From there we will head W-SW to the about 5200 level on the ridge and follow that to the summit. It has a long flat summit which we will follow it to south end. If times allows we will continue on the ridge to Indian Henry Hunting Ground and Ararat. We will return via the same route we went up.
