  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 9.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,900 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 5,890 ft

Meeting Place: Our starting point, the Commonwealth Basin/PCT North TH parking is not yet plowed out and open.  Therefore, we will park on the south side of the freeway in the most north and west parking for the Summit West ski area.

Meeting time: 7:45 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2021.

Driving directions: Take I-90 eastbound out of the Seattle area.  After approximately an hour of freeway driving, take Exit 52, West Summit.  Turn right/south at the stop sign at the bottom of the exit.  Turn into the FIRST parking lot entrance on your right: dirt, potholes, surrounded by snowplow berms.  The West Summit section of the ski area is closed, so it will be fine to park here, with no permit needed.

More details will come in an Update Email from the leader no later than the Thursday  night before the trip.

Crampons/snowshoes are probably NOT going to be needed for this scramble.
