Alpine Scramble - Rampart Ridge (Snoqualmie)

Enjoy fall colors on this moderate rock scramble.

  • Strenuous 3, Technical 4
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,400 ft
  • Pace: slow side of moderate

7:30am at Travelers Rest off of I-90, Exit 52 to consolidate cars. Parking area at the TH is very small. Carpool options provided via email to registered participants.

We will approach via the Lake Laura back-door route, which is relatively short but involves a steep, rough climber’s trail.  Once at the summit block there are two alternate routes to reach the top: the spicy west face (T4-T5), or a more mellow approach to the east via a series of ledges (T3). Participants are welcome to take either route on the ascent; we will all descend via the T3 route.

Be aware that the road to the trailhead is rough, narrow, and overgrown, and brush may scrape the sides of your car. High-clearance vehicles recommended. We will need at least 2 people willing to drive to the trailhead.

If conditions are unfavorable (rain or smoke) this trip will be relocated or cancelled.

More details to be sent to registered participants.
