This is an enjoyable, challenging scramble with lots of variety. The trip has no maintained trail - scrambling from the moment you set foot out of the car - so is more strenuous than the 5 mi trip length would suggest. There is routefinding challenge in forest, should be plenty of snow climbing, just a touch of rock climbing, and good glissading.
The drive is not very aesthetic (logging country of N Fork Snoqualmie River), and neither is the first 1,000' of ascent, through logging slash (leather gloves recommended). But if you are ok with that, the summit is worth it, with views of Seattle, and rare view of the Tolt Reservoir.
Dinner afterward at Snoqualmie Brewery (optional).
