Meet at old Salmon La Sac Ranger Station, right before Cle Elum road turns to gravel.
8:30 AM July 26
We might consolidate cars at the RS. Road is rough; high clearance vehicles recommended.
We start at N. Fork Scatter Creek TH. If Scatter Creek is too high, we'll park on the near side and cross above. Trail steeply ascends a broad ridge, ending in pleasant pocket meadows before the final approach. That involves cross country travel up a small drainage, then ascent of the NW ridge of 6821. Helmets required; rockfall possible. Ice axes also required--often persistent snow in upper basin before NW ridge. Bring cameras! Views can be spectacular.
