Meet at the South Renton Park and Ride South End of lot at 5:30 AM

The trip reports vary on whether we can possibly do Slide, Brown, Marcus and Palisades all in one day, but we are going to give it a try.

We will park at the big hairpin turn on the road up to Sunrise, then hike the trail north on the east side of Marcus, past Clover Lake to Upper Palisades Lake. After a break there, we will hike east up to Brown Peak then run the ridge north to Slide Peak (true summit at 6339' not just 6220'). We will return via Brown Peak back to Upper Palisades Lake then scramble the northeast ridge of The Palisades and continue south along the ridges to Marcus Peak.  From there we will drop down to Hidden Lake and follow the trail (headlamps?) back to the cars.

Marcus and Palisades by themselves is rated a 3-3 scramble of 8 miles and 3400' gain.  Our bonus to Brown and Slide adds about 5 miles and 2000'.  That makes it a strenuous of 5, and technical 4.

You should plan on this being a very strenuous scramble with a brisk pace.

Here is a link to a trip report that describes more/less what we will do, (except we will ascend Palisades from the north)http://www.willhiteweb.com/mount_rainier_national_park/sourdough_mountains/palisades_trail_218.htm
