Our meeting time is 8:00 AM at the Sunrise Point parking area. This is a parking lot at the last curve before going up to the Sunrise lodge.

On this trip we'll be taking an alternate route, by following the trail towards Upper Palisades Lake. Scramble to NE ridge of Palisade Pk.  Cross bowl and scramble up  N ridge to Palisades summit. Drop down into the saddle between Palisades and Marcos and head to the  NE ridge of Marcos which has some loose rock but is a scramble route. Or ascend the vegetated rib to the right of the broad rock/sand gully (as seen from the saddle) to attain the NW ridge. After summiting Marcos, run the ridge to Dege Peak then follow the trail back to the parking lot.

We'll only do this trip if the rock is dry and there's no rain in the forecast...if the trip is canceled due to weather then there won't be an alternate destination.
