9:00 AM at Upper Parking Lot C - Crystal Mountain
This trip is a conditioner on snowshoes for Tacoma Alpine Scrambles and Basic Climbing students only. We will meet at the Upper C parking lot at Crystal Mountain Resort and follow the trail up to Bullion Basin, ascend Norse Peak, then make a ridge walk around to an unnamed peak overlooking the ski resort, glissade or plunge step back down and return to the cars. You don't have to have experience with snowshoes as the idea is to get scrambles students acquanited with snowshoeing on reasonably steep but safe terrain, a skill that is necessary for winter scrambles. MSR snowshoes are preferred to deal with the steepness.
