MEETING PLACE / TIME:
South end of the South Renton Park and Ride at 6:30 AM
You can carpool to the meeting place via the clubhouse assignments or just meet us there. Whether you carpool or not, everybody should meet at the park and ride, where we will consolidate the number of cars.
If you are running late, call me on my cell phone at 425-442-6411.
ROUTE:
Andy Cahn knows a cool route directly up from the highway a little below the parking lots. We will ascend a few forests, slopes and ridges to the summit. If the weather is nice, we will then follow the ridge south as far as we can before we drop down into the ski area and head for the bar for a beer. We can then catch the shuttle most of the way back down to the cars.
GEAR:
- Ice Axe.
- Snowshoes. You must have a pair with agressive points on the bottom such as MSR.
- Avalanche Becon. Not required, but I strongly recommended that you have one and know how to use it.
- Avalanche shovel and/or probe. We should have 3 of each for the group. Please bring one or both if you can
- Crampons. They will probably NOT be required. However, if we have a big rain/freeze cycle, then they might be. In that case, I will notify everybody of the change.
