REASON FOR CHANGE: The Hood Canal Bridge is closed this weekend for renovation. I will schedule Tyler again next year. DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS: from 4-way stop in Darrington - go 12.7 miles on Mountain Loop Highway - look for an unmarked road on the left - up the road you can see a Forest Service sign that says Road 2095 - drive approximately one mile up the road - look for sign marking the trailhead "Mt Pugh Trail" - limited parking - please maximize carpooling - allow 2 hours driving time. EQUIPMENT: Ice axes are NOT required, trekking poles are recommended. MAPS: USGS White Chuck Mtn & Pugh Mtn. DISTANCE & GAIN: 11 miles, 5300' gain - Strong climbers only!
