5:45 AM at Martin Way Park and Ride, Olympia, WA, I-5, Exit 109

Start at a 4-way intersection on FR200 in a pass at 1973 feet. One can park here or attempt to drive to a washed out (as of 2012) spur road on the north side of the road at about 2620 feet. Walk this road to about 3400 ft, where an unmaintained roadway ascends the ridge to the NW. Follow this unmaintained road to a low gap on the SW ridge of Mt. Tebo at about 3720 feet. From the low gap, climb northeasterly on the southwest ridge to elevation 4200 ft, then descend to the west to about 4000 feet. Traverse at about this elevation until encountering an obvious drainage. There is a large isolated rock buttress at about 4050 ft as you cross the divide into the drainage. The buttress can be passed to its right. Enter this drainage then from a small notch, scramble to the summit.

Last year we encountered bees, so be prepared if you have allergies.
