Alpine Scramble - Mount Stone/South Couloir

Mount Stone with cross-country traverse from Lake of the Angels to Mount Lena through St. Peters Gate, out through Lower Lena

Lower Lena Lake  TH 3 pm on Friday August 18th

The route will cover about 17 miles and 8,000 feet. 

Here is the itinerary:

Friday 3 pm: Meet at Lower Lena TH and leave one car at Lower Lena TH. Drive up up to Lake of the Angles (LOTA) TH hike in to LOTA on Friday

Friday Evening: Camp at LOTA or in upper basin to the south of LOTA

Saturday 8 am: Leave for Mount Stone, early lunch on summit
Saturday 12 pm: Go over Saint Peters Gate
Saturday 5 pm: Arrive at Scout Lake, go up veggie scramble to Deer Heart Lake (camp at Deer Heart Lake)
Saturday 10 or 11 am: Climb Mnt. Lena and hike out to lower Lena Lake TH.

We will have a  half rope for the lower portion of the Mount Stone summit block and, if anyone wants it, for the upper portion of the Saint Peters Gate scree, and the Scout Lake veggie belay.
