Alpine Scramble - Mount Stone/South Couloir

Priority to Kitsap scramblers, scramble and basic climb students until July 15. Mount Stone mount Skokomish two-fer with 2 nights at beautiful Lake of the Angels.

Friday, Aug. 20, Lake of the Angels trailhead 1:30 p.m.

Day 1 - afternoon hike to Lake of the angels and set up camp. Optional swim or hike to look at the route for Skokomish.

Day 2 - Mount Stone. Tough scree followed by a couple chimneys, navigation issues, possible roped scramble on an open-book rock formation and class 3 to the summit. Afternoon swim or sunset Skokomish.

Day 3 -  Skokomish. Cross country hike up to a saddle west of LOTA side hill  scree slope. From there this peak will be exploratory for the leaders as well. Afternoon hike out. Don't make evening plans because we are not sure when in the afternoon that will be.
