Leader permission owing to large elevation gain to Steamboat Prow of ~5500' as well as the thin air as we approach our high point of ~9700'. After hiking the trail to Glacier Basin we will gain the crest of Steamboat Prow’s eastern ridge at ~6700’, then stay mostly near this crest (except for a bit of counter-clockwising on Mount Ruth’s western aspect) before ascending to Steamboat Prow.
