Alpine Scramble - Mount Ruth (Mount Rainier)

Strenuous snow scramble with extensive views of the Emmons Glacier and climbing route, and big glissade.

  • Strenuous 5, Technical 3
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 10.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 4,500 ft

Wilburton Park & Ride (Bellevue), 6:00am.  (Or White River Campground, 8:00am.)

This is a very strenuous (S5), but only moderately steep (T3) snow scramble, with amazing in-your-face views of Mt Rainier when skies are clear. Participants need to have very good strength & endurance. One of the best glissades in the Cascades -- not a good choice if you are not a fan of glissading. Leader may select up to 3 Everett Scrambling students for the roster prior to registration open date of June 17.
