Two summits for the price of one and a half!

Mount Howard is the highest point on Nason Ridge, located just north of US-2 about half way between Stevens Pass and Lake Wenatchee. We'll do a loop, leaving the Merritt Lake trail for the SE ridge and summit of Mount Mastiff, then westward to Howard, and finally south to Crescent Lake before returning via the Nason Ridge Trail. I'll email maps in JPG format prior to the trip.

This is a strenuous S-5 trip and a long day, hence the early start. Meet at the Merritt Lake TH at 7:00 am. Carpooling encouraged, Northwest Forest Pass required for each vehicle.

Directions:
From Seattle, take US-2 over Stevens Pass. Just past milepost 76, turn left onto FS 657 to the Merritt Lake trailhead. 96 miles, 2 hours from downtown Seattle.
