7:00 AM at Verlot Ranger Station
From Verlot Ranger Station we'll drive to Perry Creek Trail (#711) east of Silverton and hike to the trail's end near Point 5,396. Then continue up Mt Forgotten by the East Rib (East Gully) route to the summit. Mt Forgotten has snow covered open alpine slopes with side-hill routefinding and class 3 scrambling on volcanic breccia. Bring Ice Axe, Helmet, and ten essentials. Trekking poles recommended but not required. Expect some exposure.
