Mt. David TH 6:30am on the best weather day (Sat or Sun). Carpool only with members of your household or outdoor pod. Possibility of camping the night before at Grasshopper Meadows.

This is not a very technical scramble, but it's a long challenging day, and there's some exposure, so it's not for the faint of heart. Please request leader permission with a history of your scrambling experience. Please be prepared for miscrospike conditions, but we won't go if there are issues with possible landslides and debris fall after the fires, if there's heavy/new snow or if the weather poops out.

We'll leave from the TH before first light and be up on the switchbacks by sunrise. The switchbacks feel endless, but eventually they bust out onto an exposed and somewhat eroded ridge with views of the whole Cascades range. That ridge snakes around to our first views of Mt. David and continues to sidehill until a saddle leading to the last 1200ft scramble.

The goal is to be back at the TH by dusk.

This is an exploratory trip for us. We have only been to the start of the scramble route, which was too snowed in to be safe.
