Alpine Scramble - Mount Adams/South Spur

Priority for the June 3-7 Shasta group until May 17. Low-key acclimatization climb of Mt. Adams with camping at Cold Springs and Lunch Counter.

Cold Springs Campground Friday evening, May 21.

Priority for Shasta group to help acclimatize at 12,275ft for our 14,000ft weekend in early June. 

Day 1 - Evening on your own - get climbing permit at Ranger Station in Trout Lake. Meet Cold Springs campground, camp at 5400ft. (Or as close to the campground as snow allows - May 13 it is snowed in 1-3mi from the TH.)

Day 2 - Leisurely morning hike/snowshoe to Lunch Counter at 9400. Set up camp, get water, explore.

Day 3 - 7:30am departure to summit. Summit around 11am. Glissade down, break camp, head down. Huckleberry milkshakes in Trout Lake.
