Overnight scramble of Mt Adams. Please email me directly to register for this trip. Tacoma students, you must have completed the experience overnight field trip. Other students and scramblers are welcome to email a query to sign up. There are still spaces available as of 7/2613. From the Lakewood Park and ride we'll drive down to the Mt Adams Ranger station to pick up volcano permits ($15) and then on to the trailhead. Expect this drive to take a long time. From the trailhead (5600ft) hike with overnight packs to the Lunch Counter (9000ft) and make camp. There will likely be water available. Sunday we'll leave early for the false summit, the true summit, return to camp, rest and pack up to return to the trailhead. Ice axes, helmets, crampons are essential. Trekking poles optional but helpful. I'll be sending many emails out as we get closer to the trip date to coordinate tent mates, group gear, and carpools. If you have already selected a tent mate, please let me know when you request registration.
