  • Strenuous 5, Technical 3
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 26.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 12,000 ft

5:30am start from Federal Way, will arrange car pools as needed.

This trip WILL NOT GO unless zero percent chance of rain.  I've been in here before and had to turn around because of bad weather.  Must be great weather conditions!  This is 3 long days over tough terrain, you must be in great physical condition.  If you struggle to get into camp, you will not be allowed on the summit day bid.

Day 1: Will be the hardest as we'll hike in over the Monument trail.  Will be a river crossing (bring wading shoes), 6,000' gain on an un-maintained trail getting to Lake of the Woods.

Day 2: 6,000' gain again to scramble Monument and Lake mountains.

Day 3: Easiest day, hiking back out.

Having said all that, this is a great trip to snag two of the Bulger peaks, #46 and #84 in height.  The Pasayten Wilderness is a beautiful high dry area.

I'll send out information on climb on the Wednesday  before.
