Meet at the trailhead for the Pacific Crest Trail on the north side of Stevens Pass at 8:00 am.  Driving time is 1 hour 40 minutes from the Seattle 65th Park & Ride.  I recommend you leave by 6:15 am. Driving directions:  Take the Stevens Pass Highway (US-2) to Stevens Pass and turn left into the large parking lot on the north side.  Meet at the trailhead at the NW end of the parking lot.  National Forest Passes are required, so carpool if you can.

From the Pacific Crest trailhead (elevation 4000'), hike the trail to 5 ½ miles to the ridge above Lake Valhalla.  Leave the trail and head southeast across the outlet to the base of Lichtenberg.  Head up before crossing the stream bed.  Turn left at the saddle and scramble easy terrain to the summit.  Note:  Bring extra socks in case we are unable to make a dry crossing of the lake outlet.
