Lichtenberg Mountain - 4 miles, 2100' gain.

The perfect easy rock scramble or second half of a double-header weekend.

Lichtenberg sits north of Stevens Pass between Lake Valhalla and Lichtenwasser Lake. Our route skirts the latter and offers the possibility of a cooling afternoon swim.

Bring helmet and ice axe. Swimsuits optional. I'll email TOPO! maps in JPEG format to trip participants prior to departure. Questions? Please call me.

Driving Directions:
- From the west (Everett/Seattle), travel US-2 east over Stevens Pass.
- Turn Left 5.8 miles beyond the pass, opposite the Stevens Pass Nordic Center, to connect with the westbound lanes of US-2. Be careful entering the westbound lanes!
- Drive west about 2 miles and park on the wide shoulder on the north (right) side just before Smith Brook Road #6700. Time: 1:45 from Seattle.

There is limited parking at the trailhead so we'll consolidate on the US-2 shoulder before entering Smith Brook Road.
