MEETING PLACE: Brickyard Park and ride 6:00 AM to consolidate carpools and arrange them based on whether people want to stop for dinner on the way back. P&R; is on west side of I-405 at exit 22. One Mile south of SR-522. If this is VERY inconvenient for you, call or email and we will make other arrangements. SUNSHINE GUARANTEE: As of Thursday AM, the weather looks fine for Saturday. Lennox here we come. GEAR: SNOWSHOES are required. Ice Axe and standard gear are also required. ROUTE: Drive to 4.5 miles up the Miller River road, (near Skykomish) to 1300', hike SW up old mining road, (now a trail) to 2200’. Switchback on road/trail to 2600’ to big clearing. Just before the clearing scramble up to Coney Lake, staying on ridge east of Coney Creek. From Lake, scramble up to summit. VIEW: If it is clear, you can see the buildings of Seattle in the distant west. DIFFICULTY: Official rating is 4-4. The gain on this trip is 4600 feet with a distance of about 11 miles. Students are welcome, but make sure you are in good shape. You are ready physically if climbing Mt Si is no big deal.
