This is a very beautiful area. We will attempt 3 Bulgers, Lago, Ptarmigan and Lost peaks. Hopefully the larch will be gold and the smoke/haze gone. Pls read leader's notes for important information.

Buckskin Ridge TH @ 7am.  I suggest spending the night before at the campground near Harts Pass.

The drive to the TH can be a little scary in a 1 half mile section due to the narrowness of the gravel road and exposure.  High clearance vehicle recommended although not necessary.

This trip will happen only with a decent weather forecast.   It may be changed to the following week if the proposed week has unfavorable weather.

*****Trip is only open to those I have scrambled or climbed with.

Proposed itinerary, but subject to change.

Day 1 - hike 17 miles to a beautiful meadow west of Shellrock Pass to camp.

Day 2 - start very early to attempt Lago & Ptarmigan and return to camp.  Expect a very long and full day.    We'll climb over Lago and Dot to reach Ptarmigan.

Day 3 - rest day or attempt Lost.  If attempting Lost, we might be able to start a little later since it's closer.

Day 4 - pack up and return or attempt Lost if we haven't the day before.

Day 5 - head back if not the day before.

Please be flexible and expect long days with lots of talus and significant elevation gain on our climb days.  The TH to our campsite is on good trail for the most part, but we will need to cover about 17 miles with about 2800' gain.

Open to fully covid vaccinated participants only.
