We will start at the Minotaur TH, for trail 1517 (3800 ft), and follow a steep trail to the S end of Minotaur Lake (5550 ft). The huckleberries might be out so prepare for a moderate pace with potential short berry stops. From the S end of the lake, the group will pause to enjoy the scene of the lake and discuss which of two popular options the group votes to follow: Ascend to high ground on E side of lake, follow to head of lake, then follow watercourse up to basin below peak. Ascend to col (6340 ft) between peaks. or Ascend from the S end of the lake to a saddle just W of the lake (5900 ft) and ascend the south ridge to the summit. This route offers more challenging rock options. As the day approaches conditions and gear requirements will be provided. This is a beautiful scenic scramble we'll do at a moderate pace, and cameras are welcome. Address any questions you might have to the assistant leader, Michelle Mathison (m2.mathison@gmail.com).
