Ice axes required. This trip is primarily intended as a moderate snow scramble for Everett Scrambling course students, although it is open to all. Three spots are open to all. Four spots will be reserved for Everett students thru Wed 6/9; if any of these spots are still open Thurs 6/10, they are up for grabs for all members. This trip is a long drive (about 200 mi RT); hence the early start. Participants should be prepared for returning home late in the evening, to take advantage of the long daylight for summiting in case there are delays – this preparation should include snacks / sack dinner for the ride home, as the restaurants on the return drive home are few, far between, and I am not certain how late they stay open. This trip is in sensational terrain on the edge of North Cascades National Park, and in good conditions is certainly worth the long day. If weather forecast looks lousy, destination may be changed to a closer, less spectacular, but technically similar peak.
