This is a student snow scramble on a easy/moderate peak at Snoqualmie Pass just 1 hour from Seattle.

COVID-19: Learn about our most up-to-date guidance for participants and leaders on our COVID-19 Response page. All participants and leaders must agree to the COVID-19 Code of Conduct before participating in this Mountaineers activity.
  • Technical 3, Strenuous 2
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 5.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,200 ft

We are not meeting at the Alpental/Snow Lake trailhead. We will rather meet at the PCT/Commonwealth Basin trailhead. Go Eastbound I-90 to exit 52 which is the west summit. At the stop sign at the end of the ramp, take a left under the freeway overpass, and drive another 100 feet to the PCT trailhead parking.

Meet by 7:45 and ready to go by 8:00.

This will be a student-only instructional scramble where we will take time to practice snow travel and ice axe skills. Be sure to bring snow/rain gear and extra gloves as we will be getting down on the snow.  Depending on conditions, snowshoes may be advisable, so consider renting or borrowing if you do not have your own. I will email about about conditions, carpool, etc. later in the week.
