7:30 AM at North Bend
Meet at the North Bend Safeway Starbucks (near clock tower) at 7:30, consolidate riders and arrive at trail head (exit 47) by 8:00. Begin on the Pratt Lake trail to the Granite mountain cut off and continue until the first avalanche chute. From there proceed through the trees to the south ridge and continue to the summit. Ice axes, helmet, snowshoes, and crampons required. Bring trekking poles if you prefer until ice axes are required. appx. 8 miles, 3600 ft gain. Tacoma Scrambles students have preference. Please wait on signing up for this trip if you are not a Tacoma Scramble Student unti 5/09/09. Thanks. If conditions do not look favorable, I will consider Bryant as an option, provided the road is open.
