Alpine Scramble - Granite Mountain Trail

After-hours scramble, with a fun rock gully and then boulders on the summit ridge.

- Headlamp with good batteries
- Extra batteries
- Helmet
- Ice ax
- Harness (such as a webbing harness tied with a water knot)
- Locking carabiner
- Cord loop (for a klemheist or prusik)
- NW Forest Pass (NOT a Discover Pass) for each vehicle
- Spare headlamp (just in case)

After-hours scramble...we'll leave the TH at 5:45pm!
You might be in rush hour traffic, so plan accordingly.
We might get back to the cars around 11:30pm or midnight.
Sunset is at 9:10pm.
Here's our approximate route

When we're just about out of the trees at 4200 ft, we'll take a left and scramble up the rocky creek, straight up to the boulder field, then over the boulders to the summit. For the descent we'll take the trail all the way down.

When to meet:
We'll leave the cars and start hiking at 5:45pm
