We will attempt North Spectacle Butte. This trip is part of a 5 day scramble outing that includes an optional ice climb of the North Face of Mt. Maude. We plan to hike in on Saturday, July 14th and return Wednesday, July 18th. The general itinerary is: Day 1 – Hike in to Leroy Basin and make camp. Scramble 7-Fingered Jack? Day 2 – Scramble 7-Fingered Jack and move camp to Ice Lakes Day 3 – Ice climb of N Face on Mt. Maude Day 4 – Scramble N Spectacle Butte Day 5 – Hike out This outing is open to Scramble Grads, Basic Grads for the scramble routes and for the ice climb you must be an Intermediate climbing student or grad that has completed Ice 1 and Ice 2. If another scramble leader signs up to go, the group that does not do the ice climb can scramble Mt. Maude. Contact leader via e-mail for more details. Preference given to those that can go for all 5 days, but if the outing does not fill up, people can go for a portion of the trip.
